Nothing

I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5 NKJV

New Year Resolutions. Fitness regimens. Weight loss plans. Fasts. All efforts to improve ourselves - to make our lives better. Great starts, no doubt. However, the success of any of these lies in answer to the question - has Christ been included in our choices? Do we believe we can succeed without Him? Proverbs 19:21 NLT tells us, You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.  So let's consult Him from the get-go.

Paul directs us in Romans 12:1-2a in the Message Bible paraphrase, So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.

You want change in your life? Seek God. He tells us plainly, for without Me you can do nothing.

Nothing!

Prayer:

Father,
Help us to fully realize that apart from You we can do nothing that will last. We invite You into every part of our lives, Father. We want to accomplish Kingdom living. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
