**************************************************************
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, are only a small village among all the people of Judah. Yet a ruler of Israel, whose origins are in the distant past, will come from you on my behalf. The people of Israel will be abandoned to their enemies until the woman in labor gives birth. Then at last his fellow countrymen will return from exile to their own land.
And he will stand to lead his flock with the Lord’s strength, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. Then his people will live there undisturbed, for he will be highly honored around the world.
Micah 5:2-4 NLT
We are reminded that under His authority and lordship, there is peace and joy. Our Jesus is a good shepherd who takes wonderful, loving care of His flock. Rest in that knowledge today; you are cared for by the Savior.
Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for giving us the best Shepherd to watch over us, One we can trust to lead us safely through life. Thank You for protection from those who would seek to harm us, for healing us when we are wounded, for setting us free when we've gotten ourselves trapped, and for rescuing us when we are lost. Thank You for peace that passes understanding and for joy. In this holiday season especially, help us to stay focused on You and who You are. Help us to help others see their greatest hope is in You. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
