Who to Blame

People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.
Proverbs 19:3 NLT

Humans are always looking for something or someone to blame. First choice tends to be God - if not blaming Him for it, then blaming Him for not preventing it. However, the old adage is true - When you point your finger at someone else, there are three fingers pointing back at you.

People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord. Somebody had to say it. Why not Solomon who is considered to be the wisest man who ever lived?  The Message states it even more succinctly - People ruin their lives by their own stupidity, so why does God always get blamed? Can't get much more honest than that.

God's plan for us is always for our good and our growth, even if we don't like the way He does it. Remember, He is God and we are not.

Prayer:

Father,
We don't always understand Your ways, but we choose to believe the Truth of Your Word over the facts of our lives. Please forgive us as we humble ourselves before You and repent of our sin and foolish ways. We declare as Paul did in 2nd Corinthians 4, As Your grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and You, God, will receive more and more glory. That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. Help us, Father, to grow and fully comprehend what it means to walk humbly before You. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
