Life Groups

A friend loves at all times...
Proverbs 17:17a NKJV

At our church, we have a wide variety of Life Groups; men, women, married couples, and young adults. Next year, we will add Life Groups to our Youth ministry. Tonight was the Celebration Dinner for the completion of our 2022 Life Groups. To me, it is always a wondrous event and a little bit like a foretaste of Heaven. To celebrate what we have accomplished as a group focused on our community.

The premise of our Life Groups is a covenant commitment - to be an active participant to grow together in the Word and in relationship with God and with each other. There is a special bond that forms and proves to be trustworthy and faithful. It builds a spiritual confidence knowing that you don't have to face any of life's trials alone. It's living out Romans 12:15, to rejoice with those rejoicing and to weep with those who are weeping.

I believe we are supposed to walk this way with all our Christian brothers and sisters, not just our Life Groups. However, we don't. We don't take the time to build relationships, to get real with each other, to be transparent with our struggles. We're afraid of judgment and concerned with what others will think or do. Family, can we just lay it all down at the feet of Jesus and bear one another's burdens?  Let's do this life in Christ.

Prayer:

Father,
We choose this day to lay it all at the foot of the Cross. Every sin, every burden, every test and trial, every joy and triumph, every loved one, and every not-so-loved one. Keep us ever mindful that we are to love at all times. To love like Jesus loved and laid down His life for us. Help us, Father. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
