Proverbs 23:17-18 NIV
Day Three, counting down the Advent. Oftentimes, in the hustle and bustle and demands of the season, we can get stuck in the here-and-now and totally lose sight of Heaven. Be honest, when was the last time you gave Heaven any serious thought? What it would be like to be there - to finally reach our eternal TRUE haven of rest, no more crying, no more dying, no more goodbyes...
So many times I hear people exclaim in exasperation, "There has to be more to life than this!" They're fed up with work, bills, politics, this crazy world, and the list goes on. Let me assure you, there IS more to life than this! But only through Christ...
There may seem to be no end in sight, no hope for the future, but God's Word clearly promises us both a future and hope. It was His whole reason for coming the first time - to give us that hope of salvation, redemption. Our Kinsman Redeemer. He's the reason we have hope for His second coming. Don't forget about that...
Prayer:
Father,
We pray according to Your Word - our souls long for Your salvation. We hope in Your Word, knowing that You will renew our strength. Keep us focused, Father. In the midst of it all, cause us to never lose sight of the end goal. We choose to walk in the confidence that You who began the good work within us will continue Your work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus returns. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
