Lamentations 3:20-24 NLT
Jeremiah is known as the "weeping prophet". He was devastated by the fall of Jerusalem. In chapter 2, verse 11, he writes, "I have cried until the tears no longer come; my heart is broken. My spirit is poured out in agony..." Ever been there? I have. And the absolute Truth lived and proved out in my life is that the faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease!!
His love is the healing balm poured in and over us to make us whole again. His mercies embrace and envelop us when we could so easily be judged unworthy and left to pay our own consequences. Instead, His faithfulness lifts us above the swelling tide of our sin and grief, in the midst of all life - good and bad - giving us every reason to hope in Him.
Prayer:
Father,
You are such a good, good Father! Always loving, ever merciful, full of grace and great! Great is Your faithfulness! Lift us up above the shadows to dwell eternally with You. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen!
