My Refuge

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 NKJV

There are wars and catastrophes - financial instability and unsecured futures wreaking havoc and stress throughout the world's populace. What are we to do? Where can we turn? When they come to the end of their resources and personal ability, people around the world are looking for a refuge.

Webster's defines refuge as 'a shelter or protection from harm; any place one may turn for relief or help.' Surely, that is our God and ONLY our God. In Psalm 62, King David defines refuge this way;

1 I wait quietly before God,
for my victory comes from him.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will never be shaken.
5 Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
7 My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
8 O my people, trust in him at all times.
Pour out your heart to him,
      for God is our refuge.

Prayer:

Father,
In the midst of all that is going on, we declare You are our Refuge. We will wait quietly before You, for You alone are our Rock and our Salvation. Let us never lose sight of Your Truth. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
