2 Corinthians 13:11b-14 NLT
We spend so much time asking God to do this and do that and then sit back to wait and see what He does. Heart check! Are we waiting as in waiting for God to prove Himself to us? Because I'll tell you, He already did. Remember Calvary? Or are we waiting on the Lord knowing He will deliver us?
Waiting on the Lord takes great faith. However, waiting doesn't mean do nothing. Faith is an action word - it's a verb. I'm not saying jump in and do what only God is supposed to do. (For sure, we don't need any more Ishmaels running around where Isaac is supposed to be.)
So, what should we be doing?
Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. These take great faith, too, and lots of action! And when we do these, the Word tells us, Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
Prayer:
Father,
Teach us how best to wait on You and how to grow our faith in the waiting. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
