Psalm 139:7-10 NLT
Sometimes this journey seems too hard. In and of ourselves, we want to stop, turn around, go a different way - an easier way - and yet, like Moses, in Exodus 33:15, (paraphrased) we recognize our need for God and declare, "If You're not going with us, we're not going." We've come too far to quit now. The good news is that wherever we are, God is with us. Rough road or smooth, good times or bad, happy or sad, joyful or despairing, in life and in death... He IS Immanuel, God with us.
In those times when we want to scream, "Where are You, God? What are You doing?!?" His Word assures us He is there and we can find comfort in His presence. Verse 10 of Today's Promise in The Passion Translation reads, Wherever I go, Your hand will guide me; Your strength will empower me. This is from the same chapter that gives us full assurance that God orchestrated every day of our lives before one breath was taken. His strength every day.
Whatever part of the journey you are on, wherever you go, He has promised to never leave you, to never forsake you, to be with you always even unto the end of time. He is there.
Prayer:
Father,
We pray Your Word, O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!
Search us, O God, and know our hearts; Try us, and know all of our thoughts and concerns. See if there is any wicked way in us, cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and lead us in Your way everlasting. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
