To Do Today

We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.
Psalm 39:6-7 NLT

Do you sometimes feel as though you are in a rut? Get up. Go to work. Come home. Fix supper. Clean up from supper. Get ready for the morning... when you will Get up. Go to work. Come home. Fix supper. Clean up from supper. Get ready for the morning...

The Truth is it only feels like a rut to me when I am not spending time with God - when my main focus in life is NOT Him. His plan is eternal and has been in place since before we were ever born. Ephesians 2:10 the Living Bible tells us, It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others. And just like God's mercies (though eternal) are new to us every morning, I believe His plan (though eternal) for our daily lives is also new to us every morning. So then, how will we know what He has planned for us to do TODAY if we don't talk to Him?

Prayer:

Father,
Thank You that Your steadfast love never ceases and Your mercies are new every morning! We acknowledge our need for both in abundance. Thank You for making provision for us and for planning the good things You want us to do. We love You, Lord. Help us to keep our focus on You so we can accomplish all that You have planned. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
