Matthew 6:34 The Amplified Bible
Saying goodbye to 2020. I don't think anyone is sorry to see it go. We're all wishing for a Happy New Year and the end of this mess. However, at 12:01am of this brand new year, CoVID still has not disappeared. We're still in quarantine. Still masking. Still social distancing. What difference does a day make? Well, it all depends on what happens on that day.
I remember one day a couple years ago, I got some serious yard work done. That was the good news. The not-so-good news for me was that heavy trash pick up was the day before in the zone where I live and yesterday was gone.
I missed it by one day. The Holy Spirit taught me a great lesson that day. When tomorrow comes, today will be forever gone. What do we have to show for today? Have we done anything with eternity in mind and Heaven as our goal?
How many of us give a second thought to the time we may have squandered yesterday with regard to eternity - ours or those we profess to love? We have no guarantee that we'll all be back tomorrow.

At the time of this writing, it's now a few minutes past midnight in a brand new year. What opportunities did we miss to speak to someone's eternity? Yesterday's gone. Now that we're thinking about that, what will we do differently about it today?
Prayer:
Father,
Please make us ever more mindful of the days of our lives. Let us fill them with You and what is important to You and to someone's eternity. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
