How Long?

The LORD said to Moses, How long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in me, in spite of all the signs I have performed among them?
Numbers 14:11

We think we have all the time in the world. We think because God is a loving God that He won't really mind if we keep putting Him off - pushing Him to the back burner. After all, we're going to get to Him eventually, right? It's not really rebellion... or is it?

Let's think about that for a moment. Last time I checked not doing what you were asked to do - expected to do - was a definition of rebellion. The Bible puts it this way:
What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to His voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols.
Does that change the time frame at all? How long now?

Prayer:

Father,
Forgive us for sinning against You. Forgive us for our rebellious ways. Deliver us from them. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
