Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O Lord, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
Psalm 25:5-7 NLT
I absolutely cringe when I think of my life B.C. (before Christ). Definitely the Stone Age - my heart, that is. I may not have been prehistoric - but any history of my life before His Story of my life is best left buried in the Rock... the Rock of Salvation. Oh, if someone wanted to find dirt, they could - there's always dirt around rock - but the Breath of Life blows away whatever is exposed to Him, so I will keep bringing it to Him.
There are those in my life who love me very much - they look at me through eyes of love, so they don't actively see all my faults - and I'm VERY thankful for that. However, God looks at me through rose-colored glasses. No, He's not blind. He will NEVER overlook sin. He sees me for who I really am - all my shortcomings, selfishness, my less than perfections, but He sees me through the Light of His Truth. Light that is rose-colored by the Blood of Jesus - making it the Light of His unfailing love. Can we even comprehend love that never fails?
Prayer:
Father,
Make me more like You. I want to see the need in those around me and offer them Your Truth and unfailing Love. Help me, Father, in Jesus' Name I pray. Amen
