When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, but the angel said, "Don't be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn't here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died." Mark 16:5-7 NLT
Mark 16:14-19 provides the most details of the day Christ ascended back into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. Matthew provides perhaps the most well-known - Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
But my favorite part of it all is in Mark 16:7...including Peter.
Peter the braggart - declared, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you.” And “Even if I have to die with you, I will never deny you!”
Peter the slacker - sleeping in the Garden of Gethsemane, instead of keeping watch.
Peter - the one who denied Jesus 3 different times that night following the Last Supper...just as Jesus said he would.

Verse 7, Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter... THAT Peter - the one who when he messed up, he messed up BIG time... go tell THAT Peter I'll see him in Galilee.
Gives you hope, doesn't it?
Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for the hope that can only come through Your precious Son. Just like You did with Peter on more than one occasion, bid us come to You. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
