Left to My Own Devices

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.

I've mentioned before that I am probably one of the most directionally-challenged people you'll ever meet. Seriously. I have been lost so many times that everything looks familiar. The up side to that is now I can find my way from almost anywhere within a 50-mile radius of home. 

I hate it when people tell me directions and say, "You can't miss it!"  I promise you, left to my own devices, I can. I have. And I do! Just about every time. 

I don't know about you, but it brings me great peace to know that God directs the steps of the godly. To know that God Himself delights in every detail of our lives.

WOW! Think about that for a moment...

What would it be like if we actually listened when He directed our every step? If we submitted every detail of our lives to Him? How confident and secure would we be? How much more of His purpose would we accomplish in our lives if we were that secure in Him? 

Prayer:

Father,
          Open our eyes to see You. Open our ears to hear You. Open our hearts to receive and believe Your Word. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
