Having It Your Way

A fast food chain has built a thriving business on the motto, "Have It Your Way". In today's world, we want everything about life to go our way, too. 

For a lunch - that's good! For a lifestyle lived before God, not...

Too often, the story goes something like this. Someone makes the choice they want to eat at the marriage supper of the Lamb of God and so they walk down the aisle and read the Lamb's words written in red. Then they start to make their choices. Oh, blessings - yeah, I like blessings! Blessings are good, I want some of those. Total Obedience? No, I don't think so... can I just have a little of that on the side, please? Just enough to say I had some.  Health? Oh absolutely, I want good health and lots of it... Self-discipline? No, leave that off, okay? I don't wanna have to mess with that. Love? Of course, pour it on!! Can't ever have too much love. What? I have to give more to get more? No, never mind then. I don't want to pay the price for that...

You get the picture. Our walk with God is not picking and choosing what WE want or don't want to do. We want Heaven. Jesus said, Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.  It's your choice.

Prayer:

Father,

         You set before us life and death, blessing and cursing, heaven or hell. We choose life. We choose to actually do Your will, acknowledging it is only by Your grace. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
