There's Good News and Bad News and Great News

...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...
Romans 3:23 NKJV

He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.
Psalm 103:3 NLT

People usually want the bad news first, hoping the good news will make it all better. So it will in this case, too. The bad news is no matter how good we've tried to live in life, we're all sinners and don't measure up to God. That's not a big shock to anyone who has asked Jesus to be their Lord and Savior. It may be disconcerting to anyone who has lived life their way thinking they were good enough... Truth is, we're not.

The Good News is Jesus forgives ALL our sins. As The Message reads, He forgives your sins— every one. This may be difficult for some to wrap their head around but when Jesus was crucified on the Cross at Calvary, it was for ALL the sins of ALL mankind for ALL time.

Yes, when we first ask Jesus to come into our lives all our past sins are forgiven. The Great News is it doesn't stop there. It is written (Lamentations 3) that because of His great love, we are not consumed. His mercies never end and they are new every morning. I don't have to list our transgressions, we know them very well, and satan takes every opportunity to remind us of all of them. EVERY time we don't measure up to His standards, He forgives our sins — every one.

Prayer:

Father,
Let all that we are praise You, Lord; with our whole heart, we will praise Your holy Name. Let all that we are praise You, Lord; may we never forget the good things You do for us. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
