Which Way?

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord your God, who teaches you how to succeed, who leads you in the way you should go.

The nation of Israel had this promise among all the other promises and yet they sorely tested the Lord God - numerous times, in many ways, and with repeat offenses. And although they bore the consequences of the poor choices they made, when in true repentance they returned to God, He had compassion on them. 

Before we point fingers at their wandering ways, let's think about some of the choices we've made. Side roads that we should never have been on. U-turns we never should have made. Detours that were not authorized by God. Bridges that we burned... 

He gave us Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. What bad things might we have been able to avoid if we followed the God who teaches [us] how to succeed, who leads [us] in the way [we] should go?

Prayer:

Father,

           Forgive us for going our own way in spite of what You had planned for us. Please teach us Your way, lead us where You want us to go. Give us ears to hear You and a heart to follow You without question. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
