What Are Those Promises?

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
2nd Peter 1:3-4 NLT

We love to quote this Scripture passage about what exceedingly great and precious promises God has given us. The ones that enable us to share His divine nature. The ones that allow us to escape the world's corruption. Do you know those promises?

They're found in both the Old and New Testaments, but Paul put them together for us in 2nd Corinthians 6:
As God has said:
“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”
Therefore,
“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”
And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”
He never said we wouldn't have problems while we lived here. In Truth, Jesus told us we WOULD have problems, but He promised to never leave us or forsake us. And He hasn't. Those are the promises.

Prayer:

Father,
Thank You for Your exceeding great and precious promises to us! Thank You for giving us everything we need to live a Godly life. We pray according to Your Word in 2nd Corinthians 7:1, Because we have these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that can defile our body or spirit. And let us work toward complete holiness because we fear You, God. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
