James 1:5-6 NLT
Around here, we've had lots of opportunity lately because of furious summer squalls to see waves blown and tossed by the wind. You never know which way they're going, or how they'll splatter when they smash against the bulkhead. It's quite the illustration for this passage of Scripture...
Oh, so THAT'S what we look like when we don't trust in God alone!
See it? Is that how we want our lives to be - smashed against the bulkhead? Do we understand how we are broken and separated when we don't trust in God alone?
So, let's be honest - where do we place our faith? Do we pray and ask God alone - He Who has never failed - or do we always have a back up plan "in case" He doesn't operate on our timeline? Something to think about.
Prayer:
Father,
Forgive us for trusting in anything that is not You! Open our eyes to see any self-destructive ways. By Your Grace, may we live our lives of faith in You and You alone. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
