Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT
My desk faces the window on purpose - I love watching the evanescent fluttering of the butterflies' air ballet in my yard. Truly a beautiful sight to see. Seemingly carefree, but with a definite purpose in their dance.
To think that an ugly caterpillar wraps itself into a chrysalis and then after a struggle emerges as a thing of beauty and elegance... well, that kind of transformation just boggles the mind.
More so, I think it boggles our minds as Christians to comprehend that's what God - through Christ - does for us when we receive His gift of salvation - His deepest love. If we could ever fully embrace His forgiveness paid for with His love, humbling wearing and bearing the beauty of His robe of righteousness for our filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6)... we, too, could soar through this life with His peace, carefree in our purpose.
Prayer:
Father,
Your Word tells us in Ephesians 2:10 that we are Your masterpiece, that You created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things You planned for us long ago. Open our eyes to see it. Open our hearts to receive it. Open our hands and strengthen them to do the good things You have planned for us to do. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
