Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV
How many of us get caught up in our past - unable to forget? I'm not talking about what's been done to us for which we must forgive others. I refer to those things we've done - hurting others, hurting ourselves. Or those things we didn't do that we should have. Regrets...
Regret is the emotion of wishing we'd made different decisions... better decisions. Where we can make restitution, we must. If we can't, we need to lay it on the altar of forgiveness as part of our living sacrifice. The challenge of putting a living sacrifice on the altar is that a living sacrifice can crawl off...
The Good News is that God our Father understands our weaknesses and has already made provision for us. His Word assures us that in our weakness, He is our Strength. God's Word tells us in the Old Testament and in the New Testament to forget the past. He has made all things new. It is satan who is the accuser of God's children. What may have been true of your former life is not the TRUTH of your life in Christ.
2nd Corinthians 5:17, NKJV, tells us, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. God's Truth overcomes the facts of our bad decisions.
Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for making provision for every aspect of our life. Thank You for loving us so honestly, so completely, so unconditionally. We pray from Your Word in Ephesians that from Your glorious, unlimited resources You will empower us with inner strength through Your Spirit. That Christ will make His home in our hearts as we trust in You. That our roots will grow down into Your love and keep us strong. May we have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love is. May we experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then we will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from You. Help us to comprehend and grow in this great love, Father. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
