Proverbs 19:21 NLT
We made plans. The event was going to be one way, then it was going to be another, so we adjusted and proceeded to plan the rest of it based on the change. No problem. Just waiting for the kickoff date to implement the plan. Then... surprise! It's the night before, and it's all changed again.
That one threw me. I'd like to say only for a quick minute, but that's not the truth. I'm still fretting a little. What was supposed to be laid back and casual is no longer chill. It's like instead of your good friend coming over to relax and share a meal, it's company coming, dinner and a show. Instead of running the dust mop over, it's polish and shine.
I didn't plan for that. Not accommodations. Not the meal, and certainly not the difference in the time it takes to prepare... And then I remembered, this didn't shock God. Christ has not been knocked off His throne. His crown did not fall off. He knew my plans yet made His own and we know enough to know that His are better. Always.
So in the midst of it all, I will look for whatever it is that God wants to teach me, or whatever way He may want to use me, and I will trust Him to work all things for my good. It's what He does.
Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for loving us enough to make plans for us that are better than we can imagine. Thank You for giving us the wisdom and strength to carry out Your plans. Help us to follow You in faith, trusting You every step of the way. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
