Ephesians 1:7-8 AMP
Colossians 3:1-4 NLT tells us, Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory. Praise God! We are redeemed!
Have you given much thought about what it means to be redeemed? About Christ as our Redeemer? About from what we have been redeemed? Let's look at the definition.
Redeem: to free from captivity by payment of ransom; to release from blame or debt: clear; to free from the consequences of sin.
That makes me wanna shout - Hallelujah!! Our messed-up, sin-stained lives have been cleared from the consequences of our sin! We have been released from all blame and the debts of our wrongdoing!
This is a song that the angels cannot sing - for if we have accepted Christ's sacrifice on the Cross, this is our anthem! Sing it loud and proud!
Prayer:
Father,
How can we ever thank You enough for giving us a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to You, our God? Many will see what You have done and we pray they will put their trust in You, Lord, according to Your Word and our redemption song! In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
