Singing a Love Song

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Psalm 100 KJV

We love music. We may not like the same kind or style (or volume) of music, but I've never met anyone who didn't like music of some kind. We listen to our favorite playlists on anything that will allow us to download to it. You can't go anywhere without seeing earbuds stuck in people's ears, while they listen to whatever digital form of music is coming from their phones.

We love it - it's part of our make up. It can lift our mood, calm our souls. Music soothes the savage... well, you know. We put our favorite music on - whatever it may be - and sing along even when we can't carry a tune in a bucket with handles and help. But you know what? That's perfectly okay. Sing your heart out! The Scripture reads, Make a joyful NOISE...! It doesn't say anything about singing on key.

God loves music. According to Scripture, that's how we get into His presence - with singing. A song of praise from our hearts beats any GPS for getting us into the throne room of heaven. Ephesians 5:18b-20 in the New Living Translation reads ...be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I especially love how that last part reads in The Message Bible - Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.

Yes, any excuse for a song... When was the last time you sang God a love song?

Prayer:

Father,
Today, we lift our voices to worship You in Spirit and in Truth and in song. ♪♫Take joy, my King, in what You hear. May it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear.♪♫ In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
