Prophetic or Pathetic

The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

If you've been a Christian for any length of time you know our texts for today. And more than likely you also know the Scripture in James 3:6 that reads the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity, and verse 9 of the same chapter, Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Do you know Psalm 57:4, as well? My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men Who are set on fire, Whose teeth are spears and arrows, And their tongue a sharp sword.

The point is - they are all about words. What we say. How we charge the air around us. Do we speak light and life - or do we darken the souls of those around us with our words? Just a reminder. Will I speak prophetic words of Truth and light and life over those whom God has placed in my life?

Prophetic or pathetic? The choice is ours, but it's THEIR lives that are most affected.
