At the Right Time

At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.
Isaiah 60:22b NLT

Isaiah was prophesying of the promised future for all of God's redeemed. Eternal light. God's glory and splendor will shine on us. Our days of grieving will be over... and everybody says, "Amen!" and wants to know when!

We are all familiar with Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
“However," Jesus tells us in Mark 13:32-33, "no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert!"

Paul exhorts in Ephesians 5:15-17, Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. And in Romans 3:11-12, he writes, This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living.

2 Peter 3:8-9
But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

You know I just keep thinking about the different Scriptures that refer to a set time for things - for this world, for our lives - and what to watch for so we'll know. We have His Word that He's coming. We don't have an exact date, but we know it will be at the Right Time!

Prayer:

Father,
We know You have made everything beautiful in its time. Your Word declares that You have set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what You have done from beginning to end. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
