O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.
Psalm 63:1-2
I believe I heard my roses gasping for water this morning... In a Houston summer - from May to almost October - ANYONE who's ever lived here could give the weather report, no matter what age they are, as long as they can talk. Hot and humid today, with a chance of scattered thunderstorms. Heat index around 104 by midafternoon. Drink plenty of water and stay cool, as much as possible. Good instruction, to be sure. We must keep our bodies hydrated.
What about our spirit man? Is our spirit hydrated with the water of the Word or are we trying to get by with whatever splashes on us from elsewhere? Are we dying of thirst? Can you point someone to the Eternal Fountain?
Prayer:
Father,
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
