Praying for You

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT

Life is hard. Sometimes, we just need someone to pray for us - to stand in the gap. If you're in that place, be comforted by reading again and embracing some of the powerful prayers that have been prayed for you by Jesus, the Apostle Paul, and John, the Revelator.

[Jesus praying] John 17:20-26 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

“O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

[Paul praying] Ephesians 1:15-20 NLT, Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

[John, the Elder, praying] 3 John 2, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

[Paul praying] Ephesians 3:14-19 NLT, When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Father,
Help us to believe and receive all these. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen

Praying with David

Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth!
Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you.
With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God.
I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great.
You have rescued me from the depths of death
.
Psalm 86:11-13 NLT

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. Rescue me from my rebellion. Psalm 39:7-8a NLT

My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises! Wake up, my heart! Psalm 57:7-8a NLT

Psalm 51: 1-2, 7, 10-12 NLT
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin.

Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.

In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen

Years

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9 KJV

You've been praying for how long? Believing since when? Have you forgotten about it? Given up? DON'T!

You think it's too late, too long? It's NEVER too late with God. Do you need proof?

Okay. Abraham and Sarah. Abraham was 100 years old when Sarah conceived and she was 90! Think about just the reality of those numbers.  Abraham still believed God's promise even though they'd been waiting for years! Genesis 18:14, Is anything too difficult for the Lord?

God's covenant promises do not wear out or become less over the course of time. You need more proof? Rainbows are a sign of His covenant and when were they created? In the days of Noah! How many years ago was that - and yet I know we've all seen rainbows in our lifetime.

Breathe new life into those prayers of salvation for your loved ones. Keep believing and thanking God with the faith He has given you. He hasn't forgotten. And after all, He is a God of miracles and He keeps His promises.

Prayer:

Father,
Your Word is alive and powerful! It does not diminish. Just as Isaiah prophesied, it does not return to You empty, but will accomplish what You desire and achieve the purpose for which You sent it. We choose to believe every Word You have spoken, and give You praise and honor for them. Send a fresh anointing to stand steadfast in our faith. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
