Keep On

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7 NKJV

There are fewer things in life more hurtful than to know you are someplace where you are not wanted. Don't leave - we're not staying here with that thought... No pun intended. 😊 It's just one more reason it is so great to follow the Lord! He ALWAYS wants us! No matter where He is and no matter where we are!

From Genesis to Revelation, God has invited us to come close, to be in conversation with Him, to reason together, to follow in His footsteps, to love each other. Jesus has gone above and beyond by inviting us to ask for anything according to His will, promising that God will give it to us.

Oh, I can hear you... you've been praying a long time and as far as you can tell, nothing has happened. In fact, it seems to have gotten worse... However, in our Promise for Today, Jesus cheers us on in our pursuit of the good things of God. In The New Living Translation, it reads, Keep on asking... Keep on seeking... Keep on knocking...

Keep on! Verse 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Jesus never put a timeline on it, He just said to keep on.

Prayer:

Father,
We know that following You is a walk of faith. Help us to see with eyes of faith and know that You will be found faithful to us. You are trustworthy, a Rewarder of those who diligently seek You. Give us Your strength, Father, so that we don't grow weary in well-doing because we KNOW we will reap a due harvest, if we faint not. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen

Seeing Forever

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
2nd Corinthians 4:7 NLT

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies. So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.

But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.” We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you. All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
2nd Corinthians 4:8-18 NLT

Prayer:

Father,
Thank You for Your Word. Thank You that it is alive and powerful and able to wash us clean through You. Help us to always search out the eternal weight of things, to follow You and trust You in all things. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
