Giving Thanks - Day 4 - For Power Over the Enemy

Giving Thanks during November - Various devotionals
****************************************
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

Thank God for His Word that we can overcome fear. When our hearts are full of praise, our lives are full of power. One of the best ways to exercise power over the things of the enemy is to be in a spirit of praise throughout the day. Thank God that through Christ we have power over the enemy. Remember to speak the words He’d have you speak, and pray that you would be mindful of the enemy’s attacks. Pray He would help you remain in an attitude of praise and resist the enemy’s advances according to James 1:7, "Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."

Prayer:

Father,
We pray Your Word that gives us victory over the enemy of our souls. We declare Ephesians 6, that we will put on all of God’s armor so that we will stand firm against all strategies of the devil. We know we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Therefore, we will put on every piece of God’s armor so we will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle we will still be standing firm. We will stand our ground, putting on the belt of Truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. We will put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that we will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, we will hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. We will wear Christ's salvation as our helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Keep us ever mindful to pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Help us to stay alert and be persistent in our prayers for all believers everywhere. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
