Who Are We?

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14 NLT

Do your heart and mind always agree? Is what you say in public always what you're thinking? Chances are, not always. And unless we are actively seeking God to change our hearts and minds to align with His way and His Word, then we are only fooling ourselves... and maybe a few others.

Proverbs tells us that as a man thinks in his heart, so he is. When someone speaks the "right thing" aloud, but their heart is filled with unforgiveness, judgment, mocking, or hatred, who are they really? Remember, God looks at the heart to see who we are (1 Samuel 16:7).

Prayer:

Father,
Shine Your light of Truth on our hearts. Help us to see any dissension between our hearts and words and Your Word. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
