Holding It Together

... for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:16-17 NASB

Take a moment to think about that... all things in the heavens and on earth. All the processes of life, from the overall colossal enormity of it down to the minutiae of everyday life. He knew without Him, we would fall apart. We, our loved ones, our house, our job, our mode of transportation, our heartaches, our loneliness, our need for physical healing, finances, food for our table. You may ask why I didn't mention salvation or relationship with God... well, it's because He took care of that first. That's why He came to Earth.

Since God loved us so much that He had the plan designed for our salvation even before the foundation of the world (1st Peter 1:20), don't you believe that He can take care of everything else? Will we trust Him to see us through it all, no matter what we see?

Tony Evans encourages the Body of Christ with this Truth based on verse 17, The planets stay in their orbits because Jesus holds them there. If He can do that, you can be confident that He can hold you together, too.

Prayer:

Father,
Thank You for Your unfailing Love and Truth, firm foundations on which we can stand and be victorious. Forgive us for losing sight of Your greatness and sovereignty. We pray as Paul prayed, fill us with the knowledge of Your will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that we may live a life worthy of You, Lord, and please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
