Just a Thought on What We Offer

For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
1st John 2:16-17 NLT

Last night, we had a sleepover at Granna's (that's me). Playing with a 5-year-old means this Granna goes to bed at the same time 😍 so writing was not in the program...

I've been thinking about how easy it is to get caught up in worldly behaviors without being aware. It's a subtlety from the enemy of our soul, and often has nothing to do with blatant sin. It can start with a thought, such as...
"I'm going to go home, put on my pj's, make popcorn, and binge-watch something on TV."
Surfing the Internet, TopHatter, Wish...
"This company doesn't recognize the value of what I bring to the table."
All just thoughts. Yet, if we allow actions and thoughts like these to become commonplace in our lives, we allow worldliness to place a hold in our hearts. Heart Check... If we consume what the world is offering us, what, then, do we have worth offering to God? Just a thought...

Prayer:

Father,
We pray from Your Word. Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me— now let me rejoice. Don’t keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence, and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. Then I will teach your ways to rebels, and they will return to you. Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you.
In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen
