Keeping It Safe

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
1st Peter 1:3-4 NLT

Have you ever put something in a certain place to ensure its safe-keeping and then forget where you put it? I have. Or have you put something in a bank safe deposit box and lost the key? Guilty again. Well, I guess we can agree that those items are safe. No one can find them!

I’ve found a new scenario that drives me to distraction. Files that disappear in the computer. The whole thing now is, Let’s be a paperless society. It's all about being green. Well, losing my files lends a whole new meaning to going green because when they disappear, I get green around the gills. At least if it was on paper, I’d have hope of possibly finding it again... someday.

That’s just one more reason why we are able to trust God without reservation. The only thing He forgets is our sin - because He chooses to. The only files He loses are those pages that contain every one of our past mistakes. Our priceless inheritance is being kept in heaven for us, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. We are safe and all that we are is safe in His care.

Prayer:

Father,
Thank You for Your everlasting love and care of us. We struggle to comprehend the depth of Your operating system and the love that drives it, but we aspire to learn and become proficient. Help us, Father. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen
