All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and
all of them walked through the sea on dry ground. In the cloud and in the sea,
all of them were baptized as followers of Moses.
All of them ate the same spiritual food, and
all of them drank the same spiritual water.
For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ.
Yet God was not pleased with most of them, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

God declared a new beginning for all of them, whether they were born in the land or were strangers who chose to be a part of the assembly and follow the Lord; God made no distinction among them. It no longer mattered to Him. Here's all you have to do... (read Exodus 12).
And then He gave them the same instructions. All of them were given the same opportunity. And again, He made the point of expressing that it made no difference if they were born in the land or were strangers who chose to follow His ways. Follow Me and live. Not one of them could say, "Well, You gave him more than you gave me..." Not one...
Did all of them follow Him? No, they did not. Will you?
You may say, Yeah, but that was back then and He provided their shelter and their food every day and they didn't have to earn a living and pay gas prices and...
The great Equalizer is this, they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ. The same Christ who instructed us in Matthew 28:20, Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world...
I ask again... Did all of them follow Him? No, they did not. The question is, Will you?

Father,
Help us to examine our own lives - face to face with You. Cause the compass of our hearts to be totally fixed on You. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
