Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.
1 Peter 5:8-11 The Message
We tend to buy the lie that life should be easier if we follow Christ. He never promised easier. He promised His peace in the midst of it all.
I've said this before but I just want to take a moment to remind you again that there is no victory without a fight. There is no being an overcomer without having something to overcome.
I don't know how hard it's been for you the last two years or the last two days. I don't know what battle you are facing. All I know is that God has the plan for each and every one of our lives and He is executing His plan. Perfectly. Gloriously!
My pastor said something on Easter Sunday that was beyond brilliant in its simplistic form to help us see that ALL of it is part of God's plan for us. Good times and bad. "Remember that the Cross was as much God's will as His miracles."
Perfect Plan executed perfectly. Nails and all.
Prayer:
Father,
Forgive us for thinking that Your plan should fit around our own choices of lifestyle. We want to follow You in Spirit and in Truth, fully surrendered, wholly committed to Your plan for our lives. Help us to see and embrace what You have planned. Nails and all. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
